Protests against Duke Energy's proposed gas complex in North Carolina's Triad region are escalating. Local residents and environmental groups are voicing concerns about the environmental impact of the facility, which is part of a broader trend of resistance to fossil fuel infrastructure in the state.

Why it matters: Sustained public opposition signals growing resistance that could delay the project's timeline. This development reflects broader challenges for fossil fuel infrastructure investments, particularly in regions where public and regulatory sentiment is shifting toward renewable energy.
