NextNRG has secured a $3.5 million, 25-year contract to install a microgrid at the Taft Medical Complex in Hollywood, Florida. The system will feature 320 kW of solar, a 60 kW/240 kWh battery, automated controls, and six Level 2 EV chargers. Construction is pending final engineering, permitting, and utility approvals.
The microgrid is expected to generate over 500,000 kWh in its first year and 11.8 million kWh over its lifespan. The project also includes roof upgrades on four campus buildings, improving energy efficiency and sustainability. NextNRG’s Smart Microgrid platform will manage the system, optimizing energy use and storage.
