Stanford Law students Ben Vagle and Will Dinneen, both JD ’28, have launched Indexia, an AI-driven platform for automating book indexing. The project originated from Vagle’s experience manually indexing a book he co-authored, which led him to prototype an AI-based solution. Dinneen, whose background includes data science and computational social science, joined the effort during their 1L orientation, and the pair developed the tool into a market-ready product.

Indexia uses AI informed by indexing theory to generate industry-standard indexes, following Chicago Manual of Style guidelines.
