Advisory🎯 About Duke Energy
Solarbytes
Duke Energy Florida has completed the Bailey Mill Solar Center, a 74.9 MW facility in Jefferson County. The site includes 163,000 solar panels and will generate enough electricity to power approximately 15,000 homes. Over its lifespan, the project is expected to save customers $250 million in fuel costs, directly reducing their utility bills. This is one of five solar projects Duke has completed since 2025, with 11 more planned by 2028.
This development is part of Duke's broader strategy to expand its renewable energy footprint in Florida, where competition in solar energy is intensifying. The scale of Bailey Mill and its customer cost savings enhance Duke's appeal in the market.
Why this matters to you: Duke's rapid solar expansion directly challenges your SolarTogether program's market share. To maintain leadership, you may need to accelerate solar deployments and highlight customer savings to differentiate your offerings.
